Childhood Friend Oje "Protoje" Ollivierre Becomes a Reggae Superstar....

My childhood friend Oje "Protoje" Ollivierre has always wanted to do music, especially since he comes from a family of musicians. He studied law but decided it wasn't his passion and was critcized for pursuing his dream as a singer. It took him a while but Protoje has blown up to be one of the biggest Reggae singers in Jamaica. I am proud of him because he is the epitome that dreams really can come true....

Chris Brown & Benny Benassi - Beautiful People

Singer Chris Brown has a new music video out and everyone seems to like it. I just had a chance to check it out and I love it because it is not a typical "Chris Brown" video. Good Job Chris!

Khloe & Lamar Reality Show

People can't seem to get enough of the Kardashians. We have been  following them since 2007 with the hit series Keeping up with the Kardashians. Since then other series have stemmed including Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami , Kourtney and Kim Take New York and now the latest,  Khloe & Lamar.

The Kardashian empire continues to grow and I personally can't get enough of this family. This past Sunday was the series premiere of Khloe & Lamar on E and I was glued to the television from the beginning to the end. I absolutely loved the first episode.

Khloe Kardashian took a shot at marriage with L.A. Laker Forward Lamar Odom, back in September 2009 after only knowing him for a month. The two have been criticized for rushing into marriage so soon. It has been more than a year and so far the couple has proven than even a whirlwind romance can have solidarity.

The couple has decided to let America and the world in on what really goes on between them; showcasing their ups and downs. The first episode was filled with humor, drama and tension. I can only imagine what is to come.  I will be tuning in every Sunday night. Will you?

Baby Names....

Whenever I am bored I come up with the weirdest activities to keep me entertained. My most recent activity is researching baby names and no I am not pregnant but a lot of my friends are. I hate to see cute babies with ugly names and since many of my friends are due to have baby girls this year, I am obssessed with helping them find "cute" baby names. There are numerous names out there but I have come up with my top twenty girls names.

Most ladies buy all the shoes in the world. I love shoes but I prefer to buy all the earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces in the world.....yes I love love love ACCESSORIES!

PrittiGemz is my new found love. I was introduced to it by a friend who designed the website and I have not been able to stay away since then. The pieces are absolutely unique and inexpensive and that is right up my alley.

Rihanna Makes the cover of Two Magazines this Month...

Pop Star Rihanna graced the cover of two well-renowned magazines, Vogue and Rolling Stone this month. In both issues she shares a deep interview in which she talks about her upbringing in her hometown of Barbados, her career then and now and also past relationship with singer Chris Brown.

She has been through a lot, especially for someone who is only 23. The lengthy articles revealed things the media has not seen or heard about her before. I have developed a new found love and respect for her. She is often misunderstood but in reality she is really sweet young woman who is only living her dream.

Charlie Sheen's Surprise Appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Some think he is obnoxious and self-centered while others think he is funny and real. I personally adore him but think he's a bit extreme at times. Who am I talking about? None other than 'Mr. Winning' himself Charlie Sheen.

He has been in the news many weeks now after being dropped from  hit TV series Two and a Half Men and his alleged obsession with drugs and porn stars. He recently made headlines again when he made a surprise visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, during a segment with Mark Cuban. What did he do that was so abrupt? Sheen greeted  Kimmel with a kiss on the lips. Wooooow!!! He is known to be the 'ladies man' so it caught me off guard to see him kiss another man. This was a bit over the top but then again it's Charlie Sheen...

To Diet or Not to Diet....

Since recently I have been realizing changes in my body; very scary changes. I am getting fat! Ever since I were a child I have always eaten whatever and whenever I wanted. I have never paid attention to what I eat nor have I been a fan of the gym, mainly  because I never had issues with weight. Now that I'm in my mid-20's it is inevitable to maintain my weight as my metabolism rate has slowed down. At first I was ignoring these changes but recently decided to re-evaluate my diet and take bettter care of my body.

I drink a lot of juices and sodas and barely any water. Yes I know you guys are saying I'm crazy but water was always a last resort for me. I have however did a complete 180-degrees and now water is always my first choice. I have cut out sodas completely and I'm careful with the juices that I buy. I read the labels very carefully now.

Everyday for lunch I used to eat Pollo Tropical; quarter chicken, yellow rice and balsamic tomatoes. Very yummy but I have also cut it out, well not completely. I have decided to cut out rice and substitute it for a salad. There are some days now that I bring my own lunch to work. I have been doing a lot of chicken caesar salads, salmon with vegetables, and grilled chicken wraps. I can honestly say I do feel the fat slowly melting off my skin and I don't feel as bloated and fatigue as I used to.

I love fruits but hardly have it. I was used to snacking on cheetos or oreos but now I have also cut out these snacks. I prepare a big tupperware of various fruits such as pineapple, watermelon and grapes and bring it to work with me everyday. Every time I get the muches, I reach for my fruits.

Now last but not least, I started going to the gym. Not on my own because I would never be able to tell the purpose of each machine. My friends find it funny because they know I'm not a fan, as I used to watch them workout instead of working out with them. I am loving the elliptical and the treadmill. I'm really busy between juggling work and school but I now make it an effort to workout at least three times per week. I also try to swim for at least an hour per week.

These changes have not been easy especially since this was my lifestyle. I am proud however that my self-discipline is beyond my expectations. Taking better care of my body and eating healthier has never felt this great.....

Birthday Cake with Personality

My friend recently posted some photos on Facebook from her birthday party and everything about her party seemed not only fabolous but also extraordinary. One thing that stuck out most was her birthday cake. It represented her so well; Chanel pocketbook and Christian Louboutin shoes. I just thought I would share such great craftmanship with you guys.

Ballin' on a Budget

As females it is our duty to always look good. Some of us can maintain our upkeep on a regular without being budget-conscious and some of us may struggle. It is every woman's inalienable right to have a pulled-together, stylish and confident wardrobe. Most of us have this notion however that in order to accomplish these things, we have to spend a lot of money. That is a myth! So often I see females spend hundreds of dollars on one outfit but don't look pulled-together. My duty is to help  the budget-conscious female look good while on a budget. I won't give a long list of places to shop. Instead I will let you in on the stores that do it for me. The stores that have merchandise that make you look like a million bucks when you didn't even spend fifty.

Forever 21

My all time favorite store to shop is forever 21. Three-quarter of my closet comprise of stuff from there. They are well-known for their inexpensive and fashion-forward merchandise. I absolutely love this store because no matter who you are and what your fashion sense is, you are guaranteed to find something that suits you. They recentlty started carrying plus sizes and this has broadening their clientele. They carry apparel, accessories, shoes and make-up. Most of their clothing is priced below thirty-five dollars. Spending two hundred dollars can make you feel as if you got a whole new wardrobe.Take my advice and stop spending hundreds of dollars on clothing that goes out of style anyway. Visit a Forever 21 store, you will still be trendy and I bet no one will be able to really tell the difference.

Hot Miami Styles

I came across Hot Miami Styles website one day while just doing random searches on Google and I have been addicted ever since. They do carry a wide range of merchandise but my favorite thing to purchase from them are dresses. They have the most unique and affordable dresses. They update their site just about every week with new merchandise and because of this I purchase a dress a week. Their price is also great as all dresses are under forty dollars. Perfect place to shop for that girls' night outfit.

Make Me Chic

This was a site that was recommended by a friend. I have never heard of it and thought it wouldn't hurt to check it out. This is now one of my favorite websites to shop. They carry very trend-saavy merchandise that is very similar in price as Forever 21 and they are within my budget. I buy everything from them such as apparel, accessories, shoes and even lingerie. They also offer great coupons from time to time.

What is the purpose of the Bad Girls Club

We love the cattiness, we love the name-calling and of course we love all the drama but what is the ultimate purpose of the Bad Girls Club?

The Bad Girls Club is a reality television series that airs on Monday nights on  Oxygen at 9 p.m. It is currently on its sixth season and even though I love the show and have been watching it since the first season, I still can't comprehend how the show is helping to mold these "so-called bad girls" into better people.

Basically the show documents the lives of seven young women who have personal, behavioral, and psychological problems. The women must live together in a mansion for three months and must be able to adapt and respect each other's space but that is hardly ever the case, as there is a fight every episode.

The purpose of having these women on the show is to help them grow to be "normal" people in society but the show is not offering that at all to these women as it implies that bad behavior is justifiable. There is constant partying with unlimited booze, constant fighting and frequent promiscuity. How is the show helping these women to shy away from the things that make them "bad girls"? It is not, as there is no true guidance or counseling offered to assist these women. They are left alone to act out irrationally to boost their ratings and make a name for themselves.

The show is fun to watch but I think that some sort of rehabilitation program  needs to be implemented to showcase that these "bad girls" have overcome certain behavioral problems. They say once a good girl is gone bad, she's gone forever. Who said it can't be vice versa?

Cruising is the Best Vacation Value...

I work as a Reservations agent for a cruise line and even though I have been with the company for over a year, I just recently I had the pleasure of cruising for the very first time and it was a great experience. It was something that I have always wanted to do and I used my birthday as the perfect opportunity to get time off from work. Since I work in the cruise industry, I was very knowledgeable of how everything works and also aware of the additional costs that would incur on vacation, such as gratuities, fuel charge and of course shore excursions. This background knowledge enabled me in planning my trip not only with detail but most importantly with a budget.

                                      Courtesy of Celebration Cruise Line

I really enjoyed every minute of my vacation even though it was only three days and two nights. I have come up with five reasons why cruising is the best vacation value.

1. Your mind is at ease knowing that your cabin and your meals are already paid for. It felt great while I was on my cruise to know that I had a place to sleep for the nights I was onboard and also that I had the choice to dine at either of four great restaurants. This was a great feeling because with other vacations you would always worry about where to lodge, where to eat, what to eat and if it is within your budget. On the other hand with cruising, passengers feel more at ease knowing that they have paid in advance for their cabin and that it's just up to them to choose where they wish to dine.

2. You are never bored on a cruise. Many people develop a misconception that since you are on a ship, that you are confined and limited in activities and entertainment and you get bored easily, but that is not true. Cruising provides activities that caters to everyone whether young or old. While on vacation there was so much for my girlfriends and I to do that it was impossible to do them all. There were activities by the pool at designated times, a two-level nightclub, comedy club, Las Vegas style shows, a casino, karaoke and happy hour at the bar lounge. There were not only activities for adults as the children as well had their own fun. Some of which included designated areas for them depending on their age group, video game lounges, movie theatre, and pool activities.

3. Everything is in one location and you don't have to leave the ship for anything except when we dock for shore excursions. Again this puts your mind at ease because you don't have to worry about leaving the ship as all the amenities and facilities you would need are right there on the ship with you. There are no worries as to where you can go to get your laundry done, to go to the gym, the spa, to eat, to have a drink, to swim, to sleep, to gamble, to party, to shop or to get information on activities because cruising provides it all. It is like a one-stop shop.

4. You get to visit multiple destinations. Usually when I go on vacation, I am stationed at one particular resort or destination. With cruising however it provides the opportunity to visit multiple destinations, of course depending on the length of the cruise. You can find yourself on different islands or different countries day by day. You get to experience the culture of every destination, explore the area, go on excursions and when it is all over you return to the comfort of your floating resort. This I believe adds value to cruising and lays the foundation as to why cruising is the best vacation value. If you were to try to visit various destinations on land or to fly from one destination to another it can be very time consuming and costly.

5. You get so pampered by the staff that you don't want to go home. I have stayed at numerous resorts before where the staff checked up on me occasionally or only attended to me if I notified them of an issue or problem. With cruising however the staff, especially your waiters and cabin stewards provide exceptional service making the cruising experience a lot more luxurious and hassle free.  Our cabin steward checked up on us numerous times to notify us of the activities for the day, to see if we needed anything whether it was fresh towels or just ice for the room. The waiters were just as exceptional and they attended to us in a timely manner. They made me feel like the gratuities I paid up front for them wasn't enough.

The next you plan a vacation I urge you to consider a cruise and you will see it was a great investment for not only the reasons I have listed but much more. Happy sailing....

Beauty and Brains....

Many of us have beauty but no brains and many of us have brains but no beauty. The ones who are blessed with both are very rare. My youngest sister, Katherine-Grace happens to be an 11 year old with this rare attribute of both brains and beauty.

Katherine currently lives with my mom in Jamaica and is now in the 6th grade. I recently received a copy of her report card for last school term and it made me smile from ear to ear. She has always excelled in school but I was really proud of her this time around.

The family has been going through some rough times and in the midst of everything, Katherine still managed to produce good grades. Everyday I feel more privileged to call her my sister not only because she is as cute as a button but the mere fact that she is consistent, goal-oriented, and hardworking.

I have no doubt in my mind that she will continue to produce excellent grades, especially since I reward her for her hard work every time.

Say What...No More UberTwitter?

For all my Blackbery users out there, I'm sure a lot of you were disappointed when you woke up Friday morning to find that the popular Twitter client UberTwitter has been suspended. I was in disarray as I tried to greet my followers but my tweets repeatedly proved unsuccessful. I kept getting messages stating "forbidden"and I couldn't figure out what was wrong even after numerous attempts.

Later in the day I received a text message that UberTwitter was no more, that it had been suspended for numerous reasons and to download Twitter for Blackberry if I was still interested in using Twitter. Say what? No more UberTwitter but I love UberTwitter!

Not only is it the best Twitter client for Blackberry users but it also has certain little perks that other Twitter clients don't. For instance, it allows users to personalize their Twitter pages with various background themes and font colors (mine was pink). But what happened? Why did UberTwitter vanish overnight?

According to the Twitter Support Center, UberTwitter was suspended because it was in violation of numerous Twitter policies and trademarks in a variety of ways such as the use of "twitter" in the application's name. They were allegedly asked on numerous occasions to make certain changes in order to adhere to Twitter policies, which they failed to. However, on Friday, Feb. 18 2011, Twitter took action and suspended the application.

"Today we suspended several applications, including UberTwitter, Twidroyd and UberCurrent, which have violated Twitter policies and trademarks in a variety of ways. These violations included, but aren't limited to, a privacy issue with private Direct Messages longer than 140 characters, trademark infringement, and changing of users' Tweets in order to make money."

Over three million UberTwitter users were furious with the disruption in the service and many of them were very adamant in letting Twitter know how they felt about the situation. It was nothing but chaos! UberMedia, the company who owns UberTwitter has announce that they are currently working on resolving and adjusting the application to suit "Twitter policies".

They have to come up with a new name for the application and from now on it will be called UberSocial. No one can download the new app as of yet because it is currently awaiting approval from Twitter. For now I guess we have to  resort to Twitter for Blackberry until everything is back to normal.

Fun Manicures

I have always been so boring when it comes to manicures, as I always get a french manicure because to me  it goes with everything. Since recently however I have been realizing not many ladies have been getting the traditional french manicure. A new trend is in town ladies and yes I have been a fashion victim, as I have been rocking an outdated trend. Every girl I know is trying more fun stuff when it comes to their nails. Since we are approaching the Spring season I think I might give these fun manicures a try. I will not promise that it will be my new thing but I'm willing to try it at least once this season.

I was recently friend requested on Facebook by a local manicurist from Miami and she specializes in these fun manicures. Her designs were mind blowing and I really enjoyed looking at her photos online.  I urge you ladies to take a look at her page and support local talent if fun manicures are your thing. http://www.facebook.com/NAILMEbySierraStorey

I will be be making an appointment soon...will you?

It's my birthday...

Over the weekend I celebrated my birthday. Usually I get a daunting feeling during this time of year but this year was different. For the first time in about 10 years I was excited about my day and don't ask my age 'cause a true woman never reveals her age.

My birthday was on Friday, Feb. 11 and yes of course I had to work. I did not really mind and as soon as walked in to work, all the reasons became apparent. I had over 20 balloons at my cubicle waiting on me. Awww I thought to myself since I did not expect this from my co-workers. As the day went by it got better and better. I had money being pinned on me all day (at the end of the night was $92), I got gift cards, bottles of alcohol, flowers and two birthday cakes...yes two! I really enjoyed all the love and attention because it was sweet and unexpected. To top off  the night my boyfriend showed up at the job with flowers and a card; once again totally unexpected. My birthday was extraordinary but it didn't end there. What is a birthday without a party?

On Saturday I invited 15 of my closest friends out to party with me on the roof of Calder Casino and Race Course. We were treated like royalty and received VIP treatment from the staff. There were lots of alcohol, lots of entertainment, lots of laughter and of course lots of fun. It was truly a great birthday and no matter how many gifts I got the greatest gift was celebrating my birthday in the company of great friends...

Kim Kardashian's Skechers commercial

Skechers has not been doing so great in the past years and it surprised many viewers when Kim Kardashian appeared in their commercial aired during the fourth quarter of the Super bowl game this passed weekend. I'm sure Skechers thought having Kim K in the commercial was a great investment to boost sales, but did it really?

Without a doubt, Kim looked fabulous as always but I didn't feel inclined to go out and buy some Skechers. I just thought the ad was just another 'sexy' ad that doesn't really impact sales but rather hormones.

Maybe I'm wrong but I would love to know if Skechers had an increase in sales on Monday after the Super bowl. How did you feel about the ad?

Free blood comes with a cost...

The other day I was at work and there was a blood drive being conducted. They asked a lot of people if they wanted to give blood and I realized that many people were hesitant. I wasn't sure however if they were just nervous about the needles or if they were just inhumane about the gesture. Nonetheless I always felt that if I can be beneficial and aid in maintaining human life, it is my duty to contribute in whatever way possible.

So I went for the procedure, did all the necessary tests and gave God knows how many pints of blood. Even though the process made me weary I felt great about doing it because I knew my donation will help save another life. Something happened the other day though that really bothered me about the whole idea of giving blood. Did you know that the blood you donate for free, patients are charged to receive it?

When I donated my blood I gave it not only willingly but also for free. My boyfriend's grandmother was admitted to the hospital the other day and when my boyfriend's mother was going over the hospital bill she brought it to my attention that there was also a charge for her mother to get blood.I thought that was absurd and immediately thought about my donation. It isn't fair that the people who need blood have to pay to receive it when it was donated for free. If I donated my blood for free I want someone else to have it for free, I'm just saying!

Be that friend....

About a year ago I recently got back in contact with a really good friend of mine. We had attended prep school together in Jamaica but grew apart when I started high school and she moved back to to the States. It was so ironic that we haven't spoken for years but once we got back in contact it was like we have never been apart. It may sound cliche but people really do change. She was still a sweet person but after long hours on the phone I instantly learned a lot about the type of person she had become. She had become a true stranger to me.

Still kind-hearted and still a charismatic individual but I realized that she was going down the wrong path. She never graduated high school, she was a stripper, she was on drugs and alcohol, she had two daughters that were taken from her and she was divorced at only age 24. Wooow I thought to myself! How did she end up down this path? I have always known her to be a smart and goal-oriented person and it really bothered me that the person I knew 15 years ago was not the same person I reunited with today.

I have never been one to pass judgment on someone because I don't know what they are going through and I don't know what they went through instead I try to be a true friend and try to understand. Life is strange though because a lot of times people don't realize that God works in mysterious ways. People are placed in our lives sporadically but if you believe in fate you know they were put there for a reason and out of all the places I could be in the world I end up running into her 15 years later.

She seriously had nothing good going for her and was inspired by the type of life I was living and the goals I have set for myself. She would tell me repeatedly how proud she was of me and how she wished she was like me. I always responded by saying, you don't have to be me but you don't have to be the person you are either.

People's attitudes towards life can be contagious and I'm glad my friend caught this 'positive flu' from me. Not to pat myself on the shoulders but I am proud to say that I feel great knowing that I have impacted someone's life and have been a great influence.

Today this same person I reunited with a year ago has cleaned up her life. She recently got her GED, she is no longer a stripper, clean from substance abuse and has remarry. I am proud of her because she has been through a lot and she looked at how I handled my life and was inspired to be a better person.

Be that shoulder that others can lean on in their most depressing times....I truly believe that a true friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out. Be a positive influence in somebody's life and you will be surprised at how powerful you actually are.

Ten Must-Haves in Every Woman's Closet

Women I know we all have different body types and that we all like different things but one thing I think we can all agree on are the Must-Haves in every woman's closet. I have compiled a list of the ten things that should be in every woman's closet regardless of age, race, career or fashion sense. These pieces are the basics but they will complement all the other pieces in your closet.

1. LITTLE BLACK DRESS
How often do you hear "every woman should have a little black dress?" Well it is true ladies! A little black dress is a must have in every woman's closet because no matter the occasion you can never go wrong with black. Not only is it classic but it is also easy to accessorize.

2. NICE PAIR OF JEANS
Some women have 10 pairs and some have 50 pairs but in all honesty ladies you only need two pairs of jeans. A dark wash for night time and a light wash for day time. The key to finding a nice pair of jeans however is to know your body type. Too often I see females in jeans with their butt cracks peeping out or in jeans so tight that they get 'muffin tops'.  It is not cute! If you are not sure how to shop for the right jeans for your body type, I suggest you get help from a sales associate at a major department store like Bloomingdale's or Nordstrom. Try jeans that you like and also take their suggestion. It might be hard to find that perfect fit at first but there is a pair of jeans out there for every body type.

3. BLAZER
I cannot stress how important it is to have a blazer in your closet. I suggest darker colors or neutrals. One of the greatest things about a blazer is it goes with just about anything in your closet. You can throw it over a dress for a dressier look or wear it with a plain white t-shirt and some jeans for a more casual look. Whatever the look you are going for adding a blazer to your outfit can do a lot for it.

4. BASIC HEELS
Just like how a little black dress fits into any occasion, the same goes for a black pair of basic heels. You cannot go wrong with a pair of basic black pumps. It can be worn with a dress, with jeans, with shorts even naked if you want. One of the best things about black pumps is that there are 10 million different styles out there. Choose the style that represents you!

5. WHITE DRESS SHIRT
This is an important closet staple and a great layering piece. I have so many white shirts and I have a lot of fun wearing them. There are days where I sport a plain white dress shirt with jeans, heels and lots of accessories and there are other days where I sport the more sophisticated look; nice dress pants and maybe a sweater or jacket. A woman can never have to many white shirts as they are a great investment.

6. CLASSIC HANDBAG
I'm tired of seeing females walking around with handbags that match their outfit. If they are wearing green they have a green handbag. Quite frankly I think it is hideous! Who said your handbag has to match your  outfit color for color? Ladies one of your biggest investment should be in a classic handbag it does not necessarily have to be designer but at least leather. Black would be a great investment but neutrals also work. A classic handbag will be durable, multi-functional, always in season and will dress up any outfit.

7. SUNGLASSES
Well maybe you would not find them in your closet but sunglasses should be a staple piece for every woman. Having many pairs is okay but make sure these pairs are selected carefully and are suitable for the shape of your face. Every woman needs at least one pair of great sunglasses. It does not have to be expensive to be a great pair.

8. BLACK SUIT
Many women might be thinking why would I need to have a suit? Isn't that for career women? In all honesty all women must have a black suit in their closet. Why? It is good for interviews if your are not in the corporate world as yet and if you are it is good for big meetings. Your black suit can be either pants or skirt. Whatever your preference may be a black suit is a great investment. The beauty about a black suit is that it also complements any shirt or blouse regardless of fit, texture, and color.

9. SNEAKERS
I think I can count on one hand the number of sneakers I have owned in my lifetime. Sneakers have never been one of my favorites. Since recently however, I started to realize that every woman needs at least one pair of sneakers in her closet. That one pair can be worn for both workouts and casual activities.

10. T-SHIRTS
One can never have too many t-shirts because they are versatile, great for layering or for wearing alone. Black, white, brown and navy are indispensable and every woman should continuously replenish her closet with these staple pieces. T-shirts are simple but come in fun styles and length. I personally prefer long sleeve, v-neck t-shirts because they are suitable for my body type.

I hope I have enlightened some of you and I urge you if you haven't already added these staples to your closet to do so. Keep in mind that looking good does not have to be expensive and whatever your budget is, these are staple pieces that should be in every woman's closet and I mean every!

Everything not so tweet....

So often I have heard my friends say that Facebook and Twitter destroy relationships and I always respond that social networking sites don't destroy relationships; people do! Since recently I got a dose of what my friends have been saying and I have come to the realization that assumptions are destroying relationships not social network.

Before my boyfriend had a twitter account he would occasionally bring up something I tweeted and I found it funny because that was just outright snooping. I urged him to get an account and follow me instead of tweet watching and he took my advice. I have no problems with him being on twitter because I have nothing to hide and that's why even when he didn't have an account I didn't private my tweets.

So now he joins twitter and even though he doesn't really understand the whole concept he was grasping it little by little. I have over 400 followers on twitter and I follow about about 150 people. Most I know and some I have met through tweeting mutual friends. My boyfriend would go through my followers and ask "who is this and who is that?" My response would be they follow me, I don't know who they are. I tried to explain to him that Facebook and Twitter are slightly different. Different in the sense that most people on Facebook actually add people they know but on Twitter people  follow random people for various reasons.

A few weeks ago we were at my dad's for New Years and I will admit I was on Twitter most of the night wishing everyone a Happy New Year and also responding to tweets. My boyfriend was a little upset that I was tweeting all night and out of respect I stopped. When the party died down he went outside for a smoke and left me inside. I was wondering to myself why is he taking so long. About thirty minutes later he stormed upstairs and showed me the photo of one of my twitter friends and said, "good-looking fellow huh?"Again my response was why are you going through my tweets from a few hours ago and what is the problem now?

He was apparently mad at me for responding to a question this guy asked via twitter. The question was nothing sexual nor was this guy or myself flirting.Till this very day I still don't understand how my boyfriend came to that conclusion. Here goes the tweet that almost cost me my relationship. You be the judge and let me know if I was flirting.

Earlier during the day I had tweeted I'm full and tipsy after being at TGIF. My follower tweeted back saying "Oh what have you been drinking" and I said mojitos. Okay so the conversation ends right there. Nothing more nothing less just a simple question was asked. Tell me why my boyfriend thought this tweet was a big deal? Maybe I'm missing something but how on earth is this guy flirting with me and I'm flirting back by responding to a simple question. I just think that some people take these social networking sites too seriously. I mean it is twitter it just there for entertainment. It seems as if people can't be cordial to others online any more without assumptions and conclusions being drawn...

V-Day gifts should reflect her personality

Ladies do you feel as if you always get the same type of gift from your husband or boyfriend? Do you feel as if no true thought was put into your gift? Men are simple creatures and also ten minute shoppers. They can walk into a store at 10:30 and find something by 10:32 but why is this so? This is only because a lot of them have a general notion that all women like the same things regardless of age, race, and size.

I have been doing some observation about the way men shop for their women and I have come to the realization that a lot of men are close-minded when it comes to shopping for their partner. Valentine's Day is around the corner and I know a lot of men already have it figured out. How many of you are thinking stuffed animals and chocolate? I bet almost all of you are and it shouldn't be. My duty is open your minds to different gift ideas or different things to do this Valentine's Day. I'm not saying women don't like chocolate, stuffed animals, lingerie and a nice dinner. What I'm saying guys is that women like to be wowed...women like gifts out of the ordinary but you got to keep in mind that women like gifts that  that reflect who they are!

Every woman loves jewelry but who said every woman wants diamonds. If you are thinking to get your partner diamond earrings this year please stop right there. The trick to getting a woman the right piece of jewelry is to think about her personality. Earrings are not the only type of jewelry. Watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces, belly rings, nose rings and toe rings do make great gifts if they are carefully selected. Remember finding the perfect gift should reflect her personality.

Every woman likes to have dinner but who said every woman wants it to be at a five star restaurant. Guys don't think that every girl wants to get dressed up  to go eat at an expensive restaurant. Think about her personality and select a restaurant or place where you know she will be comfortable eating at.Great places to try are PF Changs, Joe's Crab Shack, Lula's, Taverna Opa, Saitos Japanese Steakhouse, Brio and the Cheesecake Factory just to name a few.

Every woman has a sweet tooth but who said every woman wants chocolate. Every Valentine's Day I get chocolate and guess what? I don't even like chocolate. Again this goes to prove my point. All women are different.Figure out your partner and the type of candy she likes before you run off to get chocolate. Think outside of the box...What about other candies like gummies, marshmallows, jellies or chocolate covered cherries?

Every woman loves flowers but who said every woman wants red roses. Guys roses are not the only type of flowers out there. Again knowing your partner's personality and likes will help you in selecting the right type of flowers for her.

Every woman loves a great experience but who said every woman wants the same experience. Guys this Valentine's Day there are so many wonderful gifts of experience that you can give your partner and again it all boils down to her personality. Some suggestions are helicopter ride, spa treatment, learning to cook, parasailing, kayaking, scuba diving or a dinner cruise just to name a few.

Every woman loves a personalized gift because it shows that thought was put into something and that you didn't just walk into a store and grabbed the first thing you saw. Guys personalized gifts can be just about anything that reflects the both of you whether it represents the first time you met or something as cheesy as a customized t-shirt. I guarantee you your partner will be wowed if you go with a personalized gift this year.

Guys I hope I opened up your minds to different gift ideas for Valentine's Day. I now urge you to put some thought into what would be the perfect gift for you partner. Remember now that whatever your selection is make sure it is a reflection of your partner's personality.

I want it for the price that is listed

On Sunday night I was on amazon.com ordering books for this semester. After completing my order I decided to browse their site since the only thing I ever order from them are books. My little brother recently asked for a Playstation 3 for his birthday and not knowing much about the gaming device I decided to check it out. I was scrolling through looking at different brands but one thing I noticed was that all the prices were pretty similar with the average price being $399.99. I thought to myself that is an awful lot of money to spend on a 14 year old and was about to exit the site when i saw a PS3 listed for $39.99 from Target.

I thought to myself this price must be wrong when compared to the other prices I saw earlier. I sat there and I thought about it and came to the conclusion that if the website said the price is $39.99 then the price is $39.99. So what do you think I did? Of course I placed an order, as a matter of fact I ordered 2 PS3s. I was so excited because I thought I was getting a GREAT deal!!

My order was a total of $111.35 and I made sure to print my invoice just in case there were any discrepancies. Now my order is complete and is on its way to be shipped but the following day I received an email from Amazon customer service stating that they just now realized that the product had a mismatched price which was displayed incorrectly and that they are unable to offer the items. My order was however canceled. Hmmmm okkayyyy I thought to myself but correct me if I'm wrong. If a customer walks into a store and sees a product listed for a certain price but when they get to the cashier they are told another price but goes back with the cashier and shows her where they saw the product and what it was listed for even if it was a mistake as a consumer you are entitled to the price that was listed. Right or wrong?

That is exactly how I felt about my order....it was listed for that price and I think I should have gotten it for the price listed. I totally understand that we are all humans and that we all make mistakes but as consumers we have rights and rightfully that PS3 should have been sold for the listed price.

Why Men Marry Bitches

I was strolling around in Barnes and Noble in Boca Raton over the weekend when I was immediately captivated by the title of one book in particular Why Men Marry Bitches. At first I didn't know what to think and that intrigued me. Is this a book degrading women or this this a book encouraging women to be bitches or this this a book implying that men love bitches?

Out of curiosity I started flipping through the pages. I realized that I had to get this book if I wanted to get a full understanding about it and the meaning behind its title. Might I say ladies and gentlemen too, this is one of the best books I have ever read. It is written by a woman Sherry Agrov but the content is from a man's point of view as the author has compiled numerous interviews and testimonies from different men who kept it REAL with what they admire and want in a woman; one that they would actually marry.

Relationship Principle No.3 states: "He doesn't marry a woman who is perfect. He marries the woman who is interesting."

This book is humorous but it offers tips and relationship advice undermining the notion that being overtly nice to man will make him more devoted. That is a myth. A man isn't more likely to be committed to the 'nice' girl; in other words, the girl who lets him be the sole dictator in the relationship, the girl who lets him have his way, the girl who is always readily available and the girl who will accept any and everything. Im sure we have all heard the saying that nice guys finish last but what about nice girls? The book proved that they finish last too!!

An excerpt from the book states: "The fastest way to become boring to a man is to always do as you are told..."

Why Men Marry Bitches is truly a guide for 'nice' girls as it will challenge convention, broaden your understanding of why some relationships don't progress, and modernize the way you think about how a man chooses a soul mate.

The book isn't implying that you shouldn't be nice but that you shouldn't be too nice. Men seem to be more attracted to a woman who has her own identity and is secure with who she is. The use of the word 'bitch' doesn't mean someone cruel or mean but is intended to be satirical and represents a strong and intelligent woman who is confident about what she wants and how to get it.

Relationship Principle No.35 states: "Men are intrigued by anything they don't completely control"

Many women might see this book on shelves in bookstores and be appalled by its title because of the negative connotation attached to the word 'bitch'. I however dare you to read this book and I'm sure you will find that the word 'bitch' isn't such a bad word at all.
